I don't see any other way to do it vs how I showed it in the video. Audi did a great job of making it difficult to access the AC compressor with its unique design.

No issues, got it installed and car was picked up not too long ago and he had AC recharged and working again. Oh and the mount bolts were 19mm not 17. Oh and a T45 (I think.. for the compressor bolts)

Found someone that wanted to buy it. Made some money off then it purchased a 99 BMW Z3 2.8 but it needed more work then I wanted to put into it. Sold that and purchased a 98 Z3 2.8 in better condition.

Update, wanted a Quattro again so found a deal on a 01 Audi S8 and sold the Z3... may get a video up soon

Thanks. The wagon is long gone though my brother in law has a W210 E320 wagon I mounted some AMG 18" rims on. My Audi TT recently got wrecked, not my fault though. My next car will probably be a Mercedes. Hopefully an AMG model if I can afford it.

Thank you for the info Paul. I was messing around with it yesterday and gave the instrument (right between the temp and fuel) a good wack with my first and it moved to almost normal. So definitely something wrong on the circuit board or stepper motor of the gauge. I have experience with BMW and Mercedes instrument clusters failing in some way too. Old E30 chassis 3 series would have the NiCad batteries fail in the cluster and cause failures. In Mercedes (210 Chassis) E320 ribbon cables would lose contact from heat and cause LED (LCD?) to not display properly.

Doing some driving today checking for any issues the temp fluctuated back down to one line above center then the display on the climate control 49 C read 88 c... which is normal. Still not perfect but it's almost fixing itself as I drive it. Was sputtering at 3k rpms but I never change the spark plugs out and no clue how old they are so will so that tomorrow. Otherwise running very well after the rebuild.

With stuttering at full throttle at 3000 rpm I would first suspect the ignition coils.

It's a real tight area to get the transmission pan off to replace the solenoids so you may have to remove a couple things. After changing 'noids and applying sealant onto the pan be careful not to scrape it off when trying to get it back into position.

E36 chassis BMWs are easy maintenance and very affordable. I've had several other cars since then. Currently have a 02 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro wth manual 5 speed.

it starts and shuts of, does that 3-4 times and then stays on, rough idle, hesitation from the first gear then it drives well, ...on the highway sometimes wont go faster than 65mpg, or 70, sometimes 40..i took it to a shop and they told me the MAP sensor is the problem but I replaced the thermostat with a genuine one, maybe its electrical...I really dont know what to do
